West Recruiting Notebook

A look at the latest news and notes from out West in this week's notebook...

Williams Trims List

With 30+ offers spanning the country, Gardena (Calif.) Serra linebacker Dwight Williams trimmed the list to 16 schools.

The West's top linebacker prospect, Williams has 14 schools that have offered him on the list and two other Pac-12 powers that haven't offered, but he's talking with consistently.

"My final schools are Arizona State, California, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, UCLA, USC and Washington," said Williams.

All but Oregon and USC have offered the U.S. Army All-American.

"They're both recruiting me hard though," Williams told Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. "I talk with Coach Orgeron at USC and Coach Pellum at Oregon and they both said they'll be at my school when we start spring ball. I'm not worried about it, I like both a lot and hopefully they offer but if not, I have some other great options to choose from.

Williams said he's certain to visit Michigan and Florida officially and would like to visit Clemson and Miami.

He plans to announce his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January.
