The visit was his first chance to see Tech and his brother play in the new 4-3 scheme under defensive coordinator Ted Roof. "I loved seeing them in the 4-3 scheme. You could really tell the scheme was a better fit for Anthony."
Andrew was impressed with the plays the defense made and how they responded to the defensive coaches. "Coach Roof and Coach (Mike) Pelton are great additions to the staff." Williams talked to both coaches and they told him that they are a few players away from having a great defense.
The Tech coaches let Andrew know that he could be the difference in the defense if he were to commit. "They told me that they want me there. They were honest with me and that was refreshing."
Prior to his visit, there were other schools that were ahead of Tech on Williams' list. The visit may have changed things in his eyes. He saw that the new scheme helped his brother as well as helping the entire defense. Williams also noticed that the players have embraced what they are being taught. "The coaches are on top of things and you can tell a difference already."
The visit to Tech was his last of the spring. The next step in his recruitment will be having coaches visit his spring practices. Andrew will start taking visits again in the summer. "I'll probably take road trips with my parents to schools that will be in my top 10."
Andrew has yet to decide which schools will be in his top ten. He will be deciding on that list very soon. "After naming a top 10, I'll probably start trimming it down to a top two or three and make a decision from those schools."
The decision for Williams could happen as early as this summer or as late as after his senior season. "I'll know when I find the right school and I'll announce it as soon as I know. I won't drag it out."
