At 6-feet and 190 pounds, he's a cornerback prospect from Roosevelt HS in San Antonio, Tx.
He ran a 4.49 at a recent Nike Camp, showing off tremendous speed.
He finished his junior season with 54 tackles, four interceptions, one touchdown, and one blocked field goal.
Here is a scouting report on him from Scout's Greg Powers:
"Springs is a defensive back with a well-rounded skill set. He is a physical defender and while playing safety he shows the downhill run stopping mentality. He is an asset in run support. In coverage he is also strong, hanging with wide receivers and getting a timely hand in to break up the play. He recognizes the play develop quickly and has an excellent break on the ball. He is physical at the line of scrimmage with his jam on receivers."
Springs is being recruited nationally. He had early offers from schools like Texas, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame. And now you can add Miami to that list.
He told Scout a few months ago that Miami was his dream school, which is why this offer is very important to note for the Hurricanes. Getting an elite kid away from the state of Texas is never easy but whenever you're his dream school, you have a pretty good chance right from the start. Because of that, he's someone Hurricane fans should keep a close eye on.
