Canes offer NC WR prospect

This wide receiver prospect is a very successful prep quarterback in the spread offense. He is being heavily recruited, and says Miami is his latest offer. Read on to learn more about him.

Johnathan Lloyd told Scout last night that Miami just offered.

5-11/185 WR prospect from Southern Alamance HS in Graham, NC

He plays mostly quarterback at the high school level and is a three-year starter already. He finished last season with 1,448 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,215 yards and 19 touchdowns.

"Obviously, he's a very, very gifted athlete," Southern Alamance head coach Henry Trevathan told Scout. "He has a combination of size and speed. So many times you'll get a kid that can run but he'll be small or you may get a big thick kid but he doesn't move very well… He has great athleticism."

Lloyd, also a very talented baseball player, says he grew up an Ohio State and North Carolina fan, and tries to model his game after former Buckeye QB Troy Smith.

He now has offers from schools like UNC, NC State, Duke, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, and Miami so he's clearly being recruited like a 4-star caliber player.

He's seen a lot of the local schools already and will try get to some of the schools further away, possibly including Miami now, sometime this summer.
