Canes offered NJ WR/TE today

This record-breaking wide receiver/tight end prospect from the state of New Jersey was offered by Miami today. Read on to learn more about him.

Mike Gesicki from Southern Regional HS in Manahawkin, NJ told Scout that Miami offered today.

6-6/215 WR/TE prospect

He finished his junior season with 50 receptions for 986 yards and 11 touchdowns as a wide receiver. The reception and yardage totals were both school records.

Miami and Wisconsin offered him on Thursday. His previous offers include Rutgers, Syracuse, and Boston College so he's being recruited like a 3-star player right now.

He took in games at Auburn, Rutgers, and Penn State during the 2012 season. He's also been to Wisconsin and Notre Dame for visits already this spring. Back in March he named Rutgers, Penn State, and Wisconsin as his top 3. In late April he added Ohio State (where he plans to camp this summer) to that list. Penn State (where he's been three times already) and Ohio State have not yet offered him.

His father is an airline pilot so traveling and distance from home should not be an issue when he makes his final decision.

He's also being recruited by some Division 1 schools for basketball, and says that's something he could also pursue in college.
