4-star MLB gets Miami offer

The Hurricanes have just offered a linebacker prospect from the state of North Carolina. Read on to learn more about him.

Chris Register told Scout the Hurricanes offered today.

6-4/230 MLB from Dudley HS in Greensboro, NC

During his junior season, Register had 111 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, two interceptions, and three pass breakups.

"Right now, he's an aggressive, young player," Dudley head coach Steven Davis told Scout. "I think as he gets older, he's going to be a great, instinctive player. He has great instincts to the ball. He reads well for a linebacker. I think that's going to help him out on the next level the way he reads offenses."

Register, a 4.0 student, took summer visits to UNC, NC State, Alabama, South Carolina, Clemson, and Wake Forest last year. UNC, NC State, and Clemson offered him at that point. He says he grew up an Alabama fan.

In addition to those, schools like South Carolina, FSU, Florida, and now Miami have offered so he's being recruited like a 4-star kid. Alabama still has not.

He doesn't have any visits planned for summer yet but wants to cut it down to 10 sometime this summer.
