Canes offer Va Tech commitment

The Hurricanes gave an offer on Thursday to a player who committed to Virginia Tech a few weeks ago. Read on to learn more about him as a prospect.

C.J. Reavis told Scout Miami offered him today.

6-0/195 safety prospect from Thomas Dale HS in Chester, Va.

In nine games as a junior last season, Reavis had 101 tackles, 17 pass breakups, two interceptions (returned one for a touchdown), and three quarterback hurries.

He made summer visits last year to Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina, and Ohio State. All but the Buckeyes offered and after those he named the Hokies and Buckeyes his co-favorites.

Schools like Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee offered him earlier this spring. He visited Clemson, but the Tigers still haven't offered yet.

He visited North Carolina in mid April and then committed to Virginia Tech at their spring game on April 20.

Despite the offer, Miami will have its hands full in trying to get him away from Va Tech since that was one of his top two schools growing up and it's close to home and they were one of his first offers.
