Canes offer another OL prospect

The Hurricanes currently have four offensive line commitments, a group that makes up what is arguably the nation's top offensive line class as of right now. They're still looking for a fifth, however, and another player was offered today. Read on to learn more.

OG Josh Allen says the Hurricanes offered him today.

6-3/290 from University Christian HS in Jacksonville.

He had a very good season playing offensive guard and defensive tackle for a team that went to the state championship game in 2012. He projects to play guard in college as well.

Allen is a high academic kid who collected early offers from schools like Georgia Tech, Missouri, and Louisville.

After making a visit to and getting an offer from North Carolina back in March, Allen named the Tar Heels his favorite at the time. UNC has been very active in Jacksonville, especially since one of their coaches coached in the city for over a dozen years. Allen has a good friend, Marquis Haines, who signed with UNC last year.

He visited Florida State a few weeks later and landed an offer from the Noles. Now Miami has added its name to the mix. He's being recruited like a 4-star player.

UNC seems like the team to beat right now but Miami will likely try getting him down for a visit sometime soon. That's when we'll know how serious he is about Miami.

One of the interesting things here is that despite having four commitments along the offensive line, the Canes continue recruiting other OL prospects. It's clear that they'd like to sign five offensive linemen in this year's class.
