Canes offer 6-foot-7 DE

This 6-foot-7 defensive end prospect from North Carolina is starting to get recruited nationally. Miami is one of his newest offers, he says. Read on to learn more about him as a prospect.

Lorenzo Featherson told Scout today that Miami is one of his newest offers.

6-7/220 DE from Page HS in Greensboro, NC

"Lorenzo still hasn't fully come close to what he can be and I don't think he even realizes how good he can be," Page head coach Kevin Gillespie told Scout's Don Callahan. "He is a very explosive player, especially for his size – he's 6-7 and 215 pounds [with] broad shoulders and long arms. He's still raw. He still has a lot of development. But the upside on him is huge. And he's such a good kid."

He finished his junior season with 64 tackles, including 24 for loss for a team that went to the second round of the state playoffs. He missed the first four games of the season due to an injury.

North Carolina was his first offer, and he attended a game there last fall. He went to Junior Day at Clemson earlier this year and also visited Tennessee. He says he has the best relationship with the coaches from UNC and Clemson.

With offers from schools like UNC, Clemson, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Florida, FSU, Michigan, and now Miami, Featherson is being recruited like a 4-star prospect.

Until he takes a visit here at some point, it'll be hard to tell how serious he is about Miami. Time will tell, because he doesn't have anything scheduled yet.
