Canes offer Juco DE prospect

The Hurricanes already have one defensive line commitment from the Junior College ranks, and they've been recruiting some others. Another player can be added to that list. Read on to learn more about him as a prospect.

Edmond Boateng says the Hurricanes have offered him.

6-4/260 DE prospect from New Mexico Military Academy

He played high school football at Wiregrass Ranch High near Tampa. He played both sides of the ball there, and finished his senior season with 11 tackles and three sacks.

Lack of interest from Division 1 schools is the main reason why he went the Juco route after high school. He redshirted last season as a freshman.

He has put on about 30 pounds since the start of his senior year in high school, and could end up growing into a defensive tackle at the major college level.

He's on track to graduate in December, and would have three years to play three.

Boateng says Arizona offered him recently, and now Scout's Scott Ecklund is saying the Hurricanes have now offered.
