In Summary:
You can't help but feel good for a program like Bowling Green. They haven't made an NCAA field since 1999, so you know that everyone around that program is elated.
That excitement can certainly work against you if you are not familiar with playing in a regional, though. You often see teams like this one come out and just look happy to be there. Don't get me wrong, I think it's important that those players and coaches make the most out of their time in the spotlight, but you often see those teams going home quickly.
If the Falcons are going to go to Louisville to win, they are going to have to lean heavily on their pitching staff. Apthorpe and Frank give them a couple of reliable starters, but their strength is in the bullpen. McKenney, Bruns and Singer have all closed games this season, but they are also all capable of giving head coach Danny Schmitz multiple innings of work.
Bowling Green might be back to the regionals sooner rather than later as they return many of their biggest contributors from this season and that's a good thing considering they might not be long for this tournament.
