UM Recruiting Scoop: 6/5

Read on for all the latest recruiting news and information surrounding the University of Miami, with complete analysis from CanesTime's Mike Bakas.

* Travis Rudolph visited Auburn earlier this week and took part in their camp. At 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, Rudolph is a talented wide receiver prospect from Cardinal Newman High in West Palm Beach. He told Scout that Auburn is now standing out the most to him. That can be taken lightly, though, as he committed to Miami after seeing it for the first time and then named Florida his top choice after seeing them for the first time. He seems to favor every school he visits when it's fresh in his mind. Those are the only three schools he's seen so far. Miami is still actively recruiting him and the former commitment is still strongly interested in the Hurricanes.

* Davonte Lambert is a standout Juco defensive line prospect from the state of Georgia. At 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds, Lambert claims the Hurricanes offered him earlier this year. He told Scout today that his summer visit plans include trips to Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. Miami wasn't mentioned. Since he's being recruited like a 4-star prospect, it may just be that he doesn't have a whole lot of interest in the Hurricanes. It may also be that Miami's not recruiting him as hard as some of those other schools. Either way, he's an offered player who doesn't seem real interested in Miami at this stage of the game.

* The latest Hurricane offer went to South Dade WR Tyre Brady. At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Brady now has offers from Miami, FSU, Florida, and others. He camped at Alabama over the weekend, after going up with his 7on7 team to a tournament in Tennessee that was canceled on Sunday. He made the most of his opportunity and seems to have made a strong impression on the Tide staff. His recruiting stock is very high right now, and he's a local kid with a lot of interest in the Hurricanes.

* Tyler Cook is a talented linebacker prospect from the state of California, who says the Hurricanes offered him earlier this year. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Cook gave Scout a list of his top schools last night and Miami wasn't one of them. He's not being recruited nationally so it's pretty clear that since he's not interested in Miami that he has no interest in leaving the West Coast for college. It's pretty safe to scratch him from the list if you're a Miami fan.
