Canes offer central Florida LB

This linebacker prospect is one of the top players in the central Florida area this year. The Hurricanes offered him recently. Read on to learn more about him as a prospect.

Terrell Lewis says the Hurricanes offered him during the spring evaluation period that recently ended.

OLB prospect from Ocoee High near Orlando; 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds

Nike Numbers from the spring: 4.75/40, 4.37/shuttle, 33-inch vert

He played wide receiver and safety as a junior last season and made a lot of plays near the line of scrimmage. Because of his physical style of play and size, he projects as an outside linebacker at the college level.

Georgia Tech was the first BCS offer for Lewis, and then UConn offered a bit later. LSU was his first SEC offer, and the Hurricane added their name to the mix in the spring. He's being recruited like a high 3-star caliber prospect.

When I met him last summer he mentioned that Miami was one of his top choices growing up, so the offer from the Hurricanes means a lot to him. The Canes were also the first in-state school to offer him, which could go a long way if he ends up getting Florida and/or Florida State. USF offered right around the same time as Miami.

Lewis will try getting to visit the school sometime this summer, and that could really help Miami's chances since he hasn't been to the school yet.
