Miami received more first place votes than anyone but settles into the #2 slot behind the Florida Gators. Miami received 33 first place votes but only 12 second place votes.

This means that nearly half of the media voters think Miami is #1 but the other half have them at various spots. To be 16 points behond Florida and have considerably more first place votes means many have us far lower than #1 or #2. Regardless of where we start we have the schedule to dictate our ranking.
