Mike's Pre-Season Top 100: 61-70

CanesTime's Mike Bakas breaks down the state's top 100 football prospects in the Class of 2014, with a focus on where Miami stands with each player. Read on to read about 61-70.

61. Ravian Pierce, TE, Plantation -- At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Pierce is considered the top pass-catching tight end prospect in the state this year. Miami offered early on, and seem to be in good shape at this stage of the game.

62. Zack Darlington, QB, Apopka -- A coach's son, Darlington put together a tremendous junior season. He led his team to a state title in the state's highest classification. Miami never recruited him, and he recently committed to Nebraska.

63. Michael Smith, LB, Miami Northwestern -- At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Smith is a speedy and athletic edge pass rusher. He projects best as an OLB in a 3-4 defense. Miami has offered and is in good shape to land him, especially since he grew up a Canes fan.

64. Marques Gayot, S, Park Vista -- At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Gayot is one of the top safety prospects in South Florida. He's currently committed to Louisville but the Hurricanes are still actively recruiting him.

65. J.C. Jackson, CB, Immokalee -- At 5-foot-9, Jackson is a fast and athletic cover guy who made a very early commitment to Florida State. He recently switched it to Florida. Miami never offered.

66. Richard Yeargin, LB, University School -- At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Yeargin put his name on the recruiting map as a junior at Chaminade HS. He's now at the U School and being recruited by a lot of schools. Miami is not one of those schools.

67. Kendall Gant, S, Lake Gibson -- At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Gant is an athletic and active safety from Polk County. He has a nice list of offers but Miami has not recruited him yet.

68. Quinton Flowers, QB, Miami Jackson -- At 6-feet and 180 pounds, Flowers runs the spread offense at Miami Jackson High. Some schools are recruiting him as a receiver but he wants to play QB in college. Miami is not actively recruiting him.

69. Tyre Brady, WR, South Dade -- At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Brady is one of the top receivers in the Miami area. The Hurricanes offered him recently but he committed to Kentucky recently. If the Canes continue to actively pursue him, they'll likely remain in the hunt.

70. Brandon Powell, CB, Deerfield Beach -- At 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, Powell is a talented two-way guy. He projects as a speedy cover guy for Tennessee, where he committed recently. Miami never seriously recruited him.
