Pound for pound Braxton Berrios (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road). This 5-foot-10 and 181-pound slot wide receiver is rocked up and one of the quickest players at The Opening. In fact, he made the SPARQ finals earlier today after posting an outstanding short shuttle (3.81), forty (4.48) and vertical jump (41-inches).

"It's amazing to be out there and a great football experience for me," Berrios said. "You just can't replicate this. It's indescribable. And to final the finals and finish fifth is just surreal."

Berrios is a good player and that's justified with his appearance at this event and his 20 or so scholarship offers. For now he has a top five schools.

"It's South Carolina, Clemson, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee," Berrios said. "But that could change. I think Ohio State is very close to offering me. If they did that would change things. I also camped at Miami. They wanted to see me in person and I killed it there. I won MVP of the receivers. I have been talking with them and I know they want to offer but haven't yet. I think there are some politics involved but that's recruiting.

"I am just looking for that school where I have a good relationship with the coaches and the offense has to fit me. I well be a slot guy and want to play in a spread. "

The Hurricanes were the only camp that Berrios hit. He visited South Carolina, Clemson and Duke. He wants to see some schools at some point this month.

"I really want to get to Kentucky," Berrios said. "And possibly Ohio State, especially if they offer."

Berrios had a big junior season. He finished with over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 34 touchdowns. He also played safety where he recorded 60 tackles, five interceptions and four forced fumbles.

"I love defense. I love to hit," Berrios said. "That's just my mentality."
