The Opening: Recruiting Recap

Scout did numerous recruiting updates throughout The Opening over the last few days, and here's a recap on the Miami recruits they spoke with.

RB Joseph Yearby -- He's solidly committed, and spent a lot of time recruiting for UM at the event.

RB Dalvin Cook -- Still committed to Florida. He says Miami is still recruiting him, and the thought of playing with friend/teammate Joseph Yearby in college is enticing.

RB Curtis Samuel -- He has a final 5 of Miami, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Rutgers with no clear favorite. ND wants him on defense; the rest on offense.

RB Leonard Fournette -- He made no mention of Miami when talking recruiting.

WR Johnnie Dixon -- "Miami is my leader," Dixon said. "I love everything about them. They were the first to offer for me and they have been with me since day one. I love the direction Al Golden has that program headed."

WR Austin Roberts -- His final 4 are Miami, Florida, Ohio State, and Alabama.

WR Ermon Lane -- Miami's the only school he visited this summer but he plans to see FSU, Florida, and Alabama soon.

WR Travis Rudolph -- He's already visited several schools this summer and plans to see several more. The former Miami commitment is wide open, and the Canes are still in the mix.

WR Treon Harris -- He's still pretty wide open. "I'm not talking to them that much" he said about Miami, who is recruiting him as a slot receiver.

WR Malachi Dupre -- "LSU, Florida State, UCLA, Auburn, and Arkansas are my top schools" so the Canes appear to be on the outside looking in.

OL Trevor Darling -- Rock solid with his UM commitment, but says Florida is still recruiting him hard and he may camp there later this month.

OL Isaiah Wynn -- Vandy still leads, with Georgia right there behind them. Those two are "pulling away" right now.

OL Demetrius Knox -- He has a final 5 of Miami, FSU, Ohio State, TCU, and UCLA, with no clear favorite from the group.

DE Chad Thomas -- Miami and FSU are still right there. LSU has backed off a bit. He wants an offer from Alabama.

DE Lorenzo Carter -- He mentioned six schools and Miami wasn't one of them. The Canes appear to be out of the running.

DT Thomas Holley -- Visited here last month and remains fairly open to the process, and is still taking summer visits.

DT Anthony Moten -- He almost de-committed from Florida recently. He visited Miami recently, and says the Canes are still in it.

LB Nyles Morgan -- No mention of Miami. He really likes Ole Miss and Tennessee, and plans to take an official to Vandy as well.

CB Chris Lammons -- He maintains a top five of Miami, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama. He plans to announce in August.

S Trey Marshall -- He has it down to Florida State and Ole Miss.

S Kyle Gibson -- "I kind of narrowed it down to a tope five, so my top five is South Florida, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Miami," Gibson said.

S Montae Nicholson -- He made no mention of Miami when talking recruiting.
