At 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, Berrios ran a 4.52 (laser) at The Opening last week. His 3.81 shuttle time was the best at the event, and his 40-inch vertical jump was near the top.
Berrios put his name on the recruiting map as a sophomore by rushing for over 1,200 yards, throwing for over 400, catching balls worth more than 500 yards, and scoring 24 touchdowns. He added five picks on defense. As a junior last season, Berrios ran for over 1,100 yards, had 760 yards receiving, and scored 33 offensive touchdowns.
In mid-June, Berrios listed a top five of Clemson, Kentucky, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Tennessee. That was after he took visits to the in-state schools, indicating a strong desire to leave the state for college.
He camped at Miami in late June and was named the Wide Receiver MVP. The Hurricane coaches kept in touch, and he landed the offer just a few days ago.
Berrios says he grew up a Miami fan, and has already been on campus. All signs are pointing to there being a good chance Berrios ends up in this class.
