Q&A with Jimmy Gaines

Read on to see what senior linebacker Jimmy Gaines is saying after the first couple days of fall camp.

On being a senior:
I understand a lot. I've been here, and this is my senior year. Not much has changed. This is my time to coach up the younger guys on things Coach D or Coach Barrow may have missed.

On the competition with Raphael Kirby:
Its up to them to decide. Raphael is a great player and we're competing every day. Every day.

On what he thinks about the competition:
It means a lot. It's a combination of hard work. It's great competition. Its just exciting to see how it works out.

On what he can improve in:
Some pass drop I have to clean up,, some form stuff, really just a little tweaking. Nothing major really stands out.

On the freshman LB's:
Jermaine is a great player. He's real fast and wants to learn. And Walter. They both want to learn, are hungry. They're in my ear too.
