Q&A with Olsen Pierre

Read on to see what junior defensive lineman Olsen Pierre is saying after the first five days of fall camp.

On fall camp:
Camp is going well. The defense is really playing together this year. Right now I'm playing end right now with Chick hurt. It's the next man in mentality.

On playing DE some:
It's wherever coach wants to put me at. I played tackle and end last year too.

On his weight:
I'm 305 now. Last year I was 290, under 300. I can take on more double teams, hold my ground, and be more physical at the point of attack, taking on bigger guys.

On the defense coming together:
Last year we had a lot of guys in different spots. We would all go eat, work out, and get physical at the point of attack. We wanna create a wall for running backs and fullbacks.

On which OL has stood out:
I think Seantrel made a big leap. Last year he had some problems but he's a beast now. He's a big human being but he's gotten better with his technique.

On the goals of the defense:
We all got one goal and that's to win. That's everyone's goal.

On having a good spring:
Spring helped me work on my technique and right now I feel like it's all sinking in.
