Q&A with Anthony Chickillo

Read on to see what junior defensive lineman Anthony Chickillo is saying a couple days before the team's second fall scrimmage.

On yesterday's practice:
I thought it was a good day. It's been more team based. I feel like guys are earning their spot on the bus. It's getting more intense.

On guys standing out:
Phillip had some big returns. Jermaine Grace has been working real hard, Artie's been good. Malcolm coming back, he looks explosive.

On the new additions:
They were out there yesterday. They're getting some reps. Kamalu is a big dude. He's going to be a good player for us. Renfrow coming from Virginia can help us. Gilbert can help too. All those guys should be able to help us.

On Olsen Pierre:
OP is working hard. He's had a good camp so far. He's been coming out and working on his technique every day.. I've been helping him anyway I can.

On the young guys:
You gotta help the young guys, bring them along, and show them how to do things. That's the kind of team we're building.

On Jalen Grimble leaving:
I came in with Jalen in the same class. It's sad to see him go. I wish him the best.

On where they're at:
We're coming in the middle of the camp. We're grinding, gotta push through, and that's what we're trying to do.

On the improvement from 2012:
I think we're a lot better. Guys, individually, are improving their skills and that makes the team better. We were better in the spring and I think we're better now.
