Depth Chart Analysis

The Hurricanes released a final preseason depth chart on Monday night and there are some key changes. Lets take a closer look at it.

QB: same as before

RB: The running back group is the same. Former linebacker Walter Tucker is now a backup to Mo Hagens.

WR: The three starters (Allen Hurns, Phillip Dorsett, and Herb Waters) remain the same. Freshman Stacy Coley is now the team's fourth receiver, ahead of junior Rashawn Scott.

TE: Clive Walford has taken over the top spot. Senior Asante Cleveland is now number two.

OL: same. The only spot really up for grabs is at left guard between Jonathan Feliciano and Malcolm Bunche. The Canes really have six starters here. Jared Wheeler (C and RG) is the only other player listed. Hunter Wells (G), Sunny Odogwu (RT) and Taylor Gadbois (LT) have dropped off.

DE: David Gilbert and Ufomba Kamalu have been added as the primary backups. David Perry and Kelvin Cain have been dropped.

DT: Curtis Porter has moved ahead of Luther Robinson as the second starter next to Olsen Pierre. Justin Renfrow has replaced Corey King as the team's fourth tackle.

LB: Kelvin Cain has been switched from defensive end to middle linebacker, and is listed as one of the two backups to Jimmy Gaines, who has pulled ahead of Raphael Kirby.

CB: Artie Burns has pulled even with Nate Dortch as the team's fourth cornerback.
