Interview: Devin Aromashodu

First and most importantly, Devin is a classy kid with a good head on his shoulders. He has a vision and has the desire to reach the places he wants to go. He's a great kid to meet (as I did at NIKE) or talk to on the phone (as I did moments ago).

Aromashadu is a legit 6-2. That's what he measured in at NIKE and that's what he is today. He was 184 at NIKE and says he's 185 today. He's got a real nice build, with long arms and has long legs that really help him make big strides. Because of his long legs, he doesn't look as fast as he truly is. Here's a kid who ran a 4.48 on grass at NIKE and says he works on his speed every day. You can tell, when watching him, he's the fastest kid on the field.

Aromashadu loves to compete. He simply goes out and does what he needs to do and then some. He's a team player, a kid whose team has gone 4-16 over the last two years. In his spring jamboree, without a solid quarterback to deliver the ball to him downfield, he caught four passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. If he played in a pass-happy system with a quarterback, he could catch 60 balls a year for close to 1,000 yards. And talk about versatile. It's not often you see kids at 6-2 and 185 returning kicks the way he does. The total, complete package, and a kid who I think is one of the state's top two wide receivers along with Ryan Moore, and a kid who I think is a Top 10 kid overall inside the state.

Your current core G.P.A.: 3.0 core and 3.2 overall

Your current test score: I just took it this past Saturday. Based on all my pre tests and how confident I felt in taking it, I probably scored around a 1000.

Describe your style of play: I'm a go-getter. That ball is mine when it leaves the quarterback's hands. I compare my game to Keyshawn Johnson.

Which schools called in May? A lot of coaches called. Miami, Florida State, Auburn, Northwestern, Ohio State, Notre Dame, there were a lot of them.

Has Miami offered: Yes. Larry Coker called and talked to me. He said how much they like me and they offered me a scholarship. Coach Kehoe is the one that stopped by my school.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's your situation looking like: It would be one of my four favorites - Miami, Florida State, Notre Dame, or Ohio State. Sometimes I think about the dream of playing at Miami or Florida State and then sometimes I think about leaving the area and going away for school. Since all four of them have already offered me a scholarship, the recruiting process should be a lot of fun.
