He will narrow his list in the near future.
"I'll cut my list to probably eight and rank them by the end of the week," said 6-foot-5, 298-pound Williams.
He mentioned Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Miami, N.C. State, Clemson and East Carolina as schools that have a good chance to make the that list.
Williams said Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Florida State were the schools standing out to him at this time.
He then explained what he likes about each school.
Alabama: "They're the reigning national champions and they're known for putting people in the league," Williams said. "Also, their defense is the best defense in the country."
Auburn: "I visited this summer and loved everything about it. They're also on the rise and they are recruiting well."
Florida State: "I like their business program. They also have a really good defense."
Clemson: "I feel like Clemson is on the rise, too. They beat LSU last year and just beat Georgia."
Williams has already scheduled three official visits.
"I'm going to Auburn for the Alabama game (Nov. 30), Miami for the Georgia Tech game (Oct. 5) and Florida State for the Miami game (Nov. 2)," he said.
Williams does not have a timetable for his decision.
