Morning Practice Report, 8/14

In this morning's practice Jerome McDougle overheated and was hyper-ventilating. He was on the ground for about 10 minutes and was taken by Coral Gables Fire Rescue to Doctor's Hospital.

Preliminary tests are positive and he seems to be reacting well and he did not lose consciousness. UM will have a statement regarding this later today.

Overall practice went pretty well and the defense was a bit sluggish on the middle drill but finished very well. Asked about this coach Coker said "if it were later in the season I'd be worried but right now we have time."

When asked about Penn State coach Coker responded "We can't worry about what they are doing. The reason we're out here is to do our own thing and correct our own mistakes."

Player updates:

Jamaal Green - His MRI results will be in within a day or two.

Cornelius Green - Has a case of turf toe and was held out of practice. Going to be fine.

Mike Rumph - Pulled a groin muscle and Coker said he will do some rehab in the sand and will miss a practice or two.

Clinton Portis - Did not practice. Came down with the flu yesterday and had a temperature of 104. He couldn't keep anything in his stomach and was held out of practice.
