Perryman: Grace is a young me

Read on to see why junior linebacker Denzel Perryman sees himself in freshman Jermaine Grace, and more.

On the improvements:
We're more mature as a team, getting better day by day. We're trying to get better every day.

On how they're improving:
Guys are buying in more. Year by year, the smaller things we're getting better at.

On playing USF:
It's real important. In-state rivals, a lot of guys here are from the Tampa area so it'll be good competition.

On how they can improve on defense:
I would say in the pass game. Sometimes we give up deep balls that shouldn't be caught.

They're a pretty fast team, really fast. They're explosive.

On why USF is 0-3:
I have no clue. I don't know what is going on with their program but they're good. We're not worried about guys outside of us. We just focus on us and what we have to do.

On confidence:
We are pretty confident but we don't relax. Coach D and Coach Golden tells us not to relax. We're confident but we still have work to do.

On Jermaine Grace:
Jermaine reminds me of me when I first came in. I didn't know all the plays but he gets to the ball. He gets with me and Tyrone Cornileus to learn but for now he gets to the ball. When the coaches yell, he goes into the tank a little bit so I tell him this is college. It's not high school anymore.
