Top Performers - Linebackers

In our weekly look at some of the top JUCO linebacker performances, we start off by featuring the huge game that freshman LB Herbert Harris from Hinds had last weekend in the Eagles' huge 24-20 win over then sixth-ranked Jones and we continue on through the rest of the nation, featuring players who stood out last week and also note how they have fared so far this season...

Hinds LB Herbert Harris - The freshman totaled 19 tackles (15 solo) in Hinds' 24-20 win over Jones County. So far this season, Harris has 82 tackles (50 solo) in eight games.

Louisburg LB Stephen Williams - Williams has totaled 60 tackles (36 solo), two sacks, 10 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble , one fumble recovery and one interception. Last weekend, in Louisburg's 42-39 loss to Atlanta Sports Academy the sophomore had 14 tackles (nine solo) and two tackles-for-loss.

Lackawanna LB Raynard Revels - In the Falcons' 27-0 loss to ASA, the freshman had five tackles (all solo), two sacks and two tackles-for-loss. This season, Revels has racked up 29 tackles, six sacks, 8.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble.

Trinity Valley LB Josh Pickett - Pickett totaled 14 tackles, three tackles-for-loss and three pass breakups in TVC's 34-18 win over Blinn last weekend. The sophomore linebacker has 69 tackles (54 solo), one sack, six tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups on the season.

Itawamba LB Myles Harges - The freshman had a solid afternoon for the Indians, totaling 12 tackles and two tackles-for-loss in their 47-41 loss to Coahoma in double-overtime.

Independence LB Richard Dorvilus - Dorvilus, who recently set up a visit with Indiana for November 30th, posted 11 tackles in the Pirates' 58-0 loss to Hutchinson. In seven games this season, the sophomore linebacker has posted 57 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.

Eastern Arizona LB Marcus Gaddy - In the Gila Monster's 10-7 win over Pima, the freshman had eight tackles (five solo), 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. In eight games, Gaddy has posted a team-leading six sacks to go along with 49 tackles (32 solo), 2.5 tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Arizona Western LB Antonio Kinard - Kinard had nine tackles (four solo), two tackles-for-loss and one sack in the Matadors' 47-27 win over New Mexico Military. The freshman has totaled 65 tackles (30 solo), 1.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles-for-loss.

Minnesota West CTC LB Cha'Ron Thompson - Thompson posted 10 tackles, six tackles-for-loss and 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble in Minnesota West's 27-7 win over Minnesota State CTC.

Tyler LB Devante Davis - Davis posted nine tackles (all solo) and a sack in in the Tyler's 49-23 win over Cisco.

Garden City LB Dvonta Derricott - Derricott posted 13 tackles (all solo), a sack, five tackles-for-loss and a pass breakup in Garden City's 20-17 loss to Highland. In six games this season, the sophomore has 61 (52 solo), one sack, 11.5 tackles-for-loss and two interceptions.

Ellsworth LB Lemore Wise - Wise totaled seven tackles (four solo), two sacks and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in Ellsworth's 41-38 loss to North Dakota College of Science.

North Dakota State College of Science LB Marquez Thomas - In the Wildcats' thrilling 41-38 win over Ellsworth, the freshman had 13 tackles (nine solo), one sack, three tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and a pass breakup.

Erie LB Brandon Cannon - Cannon had nine tackles (seven solo), one sack and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in Erie's 35-7 loss to Dean. The sophomore has 33 tackles, two sacks, seven tackles-for-loss and one interception.

Dodge City LB Logan Orso - In Dodge City's 32-27 win over Coffeyville, the sophomore had nine tackles (four solo), 2.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles-for-loss.

Chaffey LB Melvin Williams - The freshman helped lead the Panthers in a huge 24-13 win over Citrus last Saturday, holding the Owls to 280 yards of offense by posting nine tackles (three solo), 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack and he earned Mountain Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Mt. San Antonio LB Leon Youngblood - Youngblood had nine tackles (eight solo) and three tackles-for-loss in the Mounties' thrilling 34-31 win over Grossmont.

Fullerton LB Justin Owens - Owens totaled 20 tackles (12 solo), one sack, three tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble in Fullerton's big 38-36 win over Riverside and was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

Saddleback LB Rex Wasserbach - Wasserbach posted a team-high seven tackles (five solo) a tackle-for-loss and he also added a pass breakup and an interception in Saddleback's surprisingly easy 52-28 win over Ventura last weekend.

Merced LB Garret Nevitt - Nevitt led Merced with 15 tackles and also had a tackle for loss as the Blue Devils got a 38-27 win over Sac City.

L.A. Harbor LB Daniel Torres - The middle linebacker totaled 17 tackles (13 solo) in the Seahawks's 17-0 loss to Allan Hancock last week.

College of the Desert LB Gervell Morgan - Morgan had 10 tackles (six solo), one sack and three tackles-for-loss to go along with a pass breakup, but COD still fell to Orange Coast by a score of 40-30.

Golden West LB Kyle Haley - The sophomore had 10 tackles (four solo) and an interception in Golden West's 45-10 win over Pasadena.

Cerritos LB Nick Downs - Downs had 11 tackles (three solo), a sack, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a pass breakup in Cerritos' 23-10 win over Palomar.
