At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Ihenacho has over a dozen scholarship offers and is being actively recruited by a lot of schools. He talked about that.
"UCLA has been mailing me more letters than anyone else," Ihenacho said. "But I'm interested in visiting all of the schools recruiting me."
One of the schools recruiting him, he says, is Miami.
"Their interest in my teammate, Olajuwon Tucker, really won me over and made me respect them a lot. Their recruiting is very genuine and based on their scouting team. If they see you and you perform in front of them they'll recruit you regardless of how many stars you have or the prestige of your school. I'm very interested in Miami."
Ihenacho, who is still waiting on a Miami offer, plans to watch tonight's game against North Carolina.
"I'll go with Miami," he chuckled. "I'm biased though since they're recruiting me.
Ihenacho received a phone call from Arizona State coach Del Alexander while we were talking. He talked about that.
"He's one of the coaches who are recruiting me the hardest. I respect him as coach because he's one of the first five coaches who recruited me."
Arizona State, Miami, California, and UCLA are just some of the schools actively recruiting the three-star safety. However, he's not ready to single out any favorites. He does know what he'll be looking for in a school though.
"I'll look at how you recruit me because that makes an impact on how I view the University that you represent as a whole. If we don't communicate and other coaches are still talking to me every week their stock will be rising to me."
