Adamsville (AL) Minor cornerback Maurice Smitherman is a prospect of note in the southeast for the 2015 class. He is rated as a three-star prospect and has picked up several offers.
The newest offers for Smitherman have come from Georgia Tech and LSU. The Yellow Jackets offered while he was on his visit last weekend.
"It's nice to have another ACC offer," Smitherman said of the Yellow Jackets. "They have a great academic program."
Smitherman discussed his visit to Atlanta to see what Georgia Tech had to offer.
"It was a great visit," he mentioned. "Georgia Tech played real well and got the victory. Their defense was impressive. They offered me while I was there. They have a good complex and Iliked it."
The Alabama native talked about the interaction he had with the Georgia Tech coaching staff.
"They told me to just keep working hard and that grades are the key," he stated. "The coaches said they really like my speed and that I was a prospect they really liked and were going to recruit going forward."
