Wednesday Q&A with Al Golden

Read on to see what Al Golden is saying a few days before his team travels to take on Duke.

On this week:
We have good energy. They know we have a lot to play for. We're preparing for a team that is playing really well and have won five straight. We got a lot done today.

On moving on from VT:
We were disappointed. We didn't play well enough. We have to shake it off and focus on Duke. It's Wednesday and I think we've done a good job of focusing on Duke.

On the need for more DL:
You guys know that. We got three defensive linemen over the summer. We're not where we want to be in terms of depth and rotation. We have no excuses. The handcuffs are off now.

On the health at safety:
It's the first time in 7 or 8 weeks that we have all our safeties. Really it's the first time all season. It's good. There is competition there because of it. Artie is trying to gain on those guys. Corn Elder, Antonio Crawford, those guys are inching up. We're nowhere near where we need to be yet in terms of depth. The guys here now are competing this week as they should be.

On the facility upgrade coming soon:
It's all big. 28 months of bad news and now it's good news. We're starting to learn how to be on the stage a little bit and now we're moving forward with the facilities. We will continue to battle and stay with the plan.

On Stephen Morris:
His last game was his best game since South Florida. Even Stephen will tell you there were a lot of uncharacteristic plays since South Florida. He had a freak injury and has battled. He's been a great leader through it all, never made excuses. He had over 300 yards against one of the top defenses and that included some drops. I'm excited in the direction he's going.
