Q&A with Shayon Green

Read on to see what senior defensive end Shayon Green is saying a few days before the team's game against Virginia.

On the defensive struggles lately:
The last couple games have been tough. We haven't been executing. We have guys not doing their jobs and we just have to do them better.

It's an experienced team. They work good together. They have similar plays that we've played. We just have to play fast.

On the depth chart changes on defense:
I think Coach D does a great job of getting the best players on the field, and we just go along with it.

On players executing their roles:
Guys are not doing their jobs. Coaches do us a great job of telling us to be in the right positions and we just have to do it.

On moving on:
We have to go into each game like it's a championship. We have to prepare hard every week. It'll be like every other game – it could be my last. I leave nothing on the table. I've done my best. I'm happy with what I've done.

On the togetherness of this team:
It all started in the offseason. Guys were working, playing fast, communicating, and getting to know each other. We had the best morale since I've been here and it's been fun being out there playing with them.
