Elite running backs says he loves Miami

About a month ago, I watched film on running back Justin Vincent. He was so impressive, it seemed like he was clearly a UM prospect at running back. So I called and that was the case. Of course, Vincent has since committed to LSU.

But I just saw another prime time back. Atlanta (Ga) Washington's Nick Turner joins Gerald Riggs as one of the top two running back prospects I've seen in the entire country this year.

Turner is the complete package. His hips are incredible when he runs and he does a tremendous job of avoiding tacklers and making them miss. As a junior last season, Turner rushed for 1,997 yards and 23 touchdowns.

At Auburn's summer camp earlier this summer, Turner measured in at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. He ran a 4.40 on the same track that Glenn Sharpe ran a 4.36 on. So that's what type of speed we're talking about here.

Your current core GPA: It's a 2.8 right now.

Your current test score: I dont have it back yet.

Who are some of the top schools who called in May: Oh man, I had so many calls, I cant even remember them all. Pretty much everyone in the SEC, pretty much everyone in the ACC, all the Florida schools, there were a bunch of them.

Which schools have sent you a scholarship offer in writing: Georgia Tech, Georgia, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Clemson, Auburn, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee so far.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: I was hoping you wouldn't ask that, because I have no idea right now. I'm totally wide open and haven't even considered narrowing it down yet.

Talk about Miami: I love them and their offense, yeah, they're a great program. They might be one of my visits.

Have you scheduled any official visits yet: Not yet.

Turner sure has the offers to prove that he's one of the elite running back prospects in the entire country. I got the feeling that he is totally wide open, though, right now. I'm not sure if it meant anything or not, but when I asked about his written offers, he quickly named off Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Miami. Then he puased for about two seconds before naming off the rest, beginning with Florida State. Again, that probably doesn't mean anything, but I had a hard time getting him to name anything close to some favorite schools right now. If we do really well this season and continue recruiting him hard, I think we will probably at least get a visit. Stay tuned.
