Practice Notes, 8/16

Jerome McDougle was back at practice today but did not do much. He rode the bike and is going to take a couple of days off of practice to ease his way back up to speed.

"Jerome got a pretty rousing reception and it was a little emotional. Let's not forget this is a tight football team and it is great to have our warrior back" coach Larry Coker said after practice.

With McDougle out and with other injuries the defensive end position has become thin with only Andrew Williams and William Joseph healthy. John Square tweaked his ankle a bit but said he would be back tomorrow no problem.

Injury Update

John Square (ankle, will be back tomorrow), Frank Gore (pulled groin, rode the bike, will be back tomorrow), Jamaal Green (knee, still out), Mike Rumph (groin, be back soon), Cornelius Green (turf toe, day to day).

Saturday Practice

Saturday's practice will be held at 9:45 at the Orange Bowl. Coach Coker mentioned that he wants the players to get used to the stadium environment. There are three objectives for Saturday's practice:

1. Improve red zone productivity on offense
2. Defense reduce amount of big plays allowed
3. Improve kicking game
