Canes headed to Orlando

Following a 9-3 regular season, the University of Miami will play in their first bowl game during the Al Golden era.

The team will travel to Orlando to play against Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl. The game will take place at 6:45 on December 28th at the Citrus Bowl in downtown Orlando.

Miami, which finished the season 9-3, was ineligible for bowl competition the last two years because of self-imposed sanctions. By playing in this game the Canes will receive a handful of extra practices over the next few weeks leading up to the game.

Louisville finished the regular season with an 11-1 record, with their only loss coming in the final seconds to UCF. Ranked 16th in the national polls, the Cardinal are led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater -- who was once committed to the Hurricanes as a senior at Miami Northwestern High School.

Louisville's passing offense ranks 18th nationally in yards per game this season. Giving up just 12.4 points per game, their defense ranks third in the nation.

Miami last played in this game back in 2009 when they lost to Wisconsin to finish the year with a 9-4 record.
