Running back Joe Mixon received an offer from basically every top school in the country and watching him without pads on you could see that he was an explosive and versatile player with great size and speed. The all-star game may be a tough spot for him to get his shine, but his blend of skills should be conducive to some success. There have been some great backs in this game and Mixon could be the next one we see playing on Sunday's from this long tenured all-star event.

Clifton Garrett is the nation's top middle linebacker and I loved him on film, because he's a big, punishing hitter. When I saw him at The Opening, you could see all the makings of an elite linebacker, except the hitting, because in the 7on7, the linebackers didn't get all too physical. Being at the Army Bowl, and with pads on throughout the week, I look forward to seeing Garrett in his element.

Matthew Elam is a guy I am very interested in. He was a name not many new about early in the process and he has blown up to be a national recruit in 2014. He is a big defensive tackle from Kentucky, a state not known for producing elite high-level football prospects on a regular basis.

I know there is a ton of skill talent in the game, but the one I want to see is Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco five-star offensive guard Damien Mama. Why? I remember the size of him (6-4, 370) at The Opening and then couldn't believe how well he moved. That was with a helmet and shoulder pads, and I want to see what he does in full gear, with some big-time competition motivating him.

Solomon Thomas is one of the top defensive end recruits in the nation and should have plenty of chances to make plays as the All-American games are traditionally pass happy events. Throw in the fact that Stanford and UCLA are on the short list for Thomas and the lineman could end up in the Pac 12 and it makes him an even more intriguing player to check out.

I am most anxious to see Oregon commit Royce Freeman (Imperial, Calif.). He was one of the most impressive running back prospects at the Opening. I mean I was really impressed with him. He did put up big numbers in high school but wasn't exactly against the best competition in Calif. I hope he can get his share of touches.
