Official Visitor Breakdown

Only two recruiting weekends remain so things are really heating up on the recruiting front. Miami has players on campus this weekend for visits. Read on for a breakdown.

The Hurricanes are hosting just two players for visits this weekend -- Tavon Ross and Malik Rosier.

Rosier, 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, is a dual-threat quarterback prospect who attends Faith Academy High in Mobile, Ala. After getting some non-BCS Division 1 offers back in the spring, the Hurricanes gave him one. He committed soon after. Despite going to a few other summer camps, Rosier never landed any other BCS offers. He didn't take any other visits, and his commitment to Miami is rock solid. He's also a very good baseball player.

Ross was actually a prep quarterback as well. At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, he was a running quarterback at Bleckley County High in Georgia this past season. Ross made a commitment to Missouri just before the season started. However, both Miami and Georgia offered him within the last two weeks. He went on a visit to UGA last weekend and is at Miami this weekend. It appears to be a three-team race. While he's still committed to Missouri, UGA seems like a major player right now. The next 48 hours will be Miami's chance to flip him. Ross projects as a defensive back at the college level.
