Junior Day Recap

Sunday was Junior Day at the University of Miami. Many of the area's top 2015 prospects spent time on campus today. CanesTime.com has the full report from all the action.

The Canes landed one commitment today and it came from WR Emonee Spence. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Spence is a WR prospect from Flanagan High. Miami was his first offer, and he accepted the commitment right away. He had over 600 yards and seven touchdowns this past season.

Miramar DB Tyrek Cole committed to Florida State earlier this month but says he was at UM's Junior Day event Sunday. At 5-foot-10, he's a 4-star DB prospect who Miami is still actively recruiting. And his visit here indicates he still has some interest in the Canes.

Cole wasn't the only Miramar player there. RB Alex Anderson was as well. At 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, Anderson has offers from schools like West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. The Canes are recruiting him but he hasn't been offered yet.

LB Sh'mar Kilby-Lane visited UM and was offered a scholarship, according to his coach. At 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Lane is a very heavily recruited LB prospect from Hallandale HS. Some of his other offers include Ohio State, LSU, and Florida.

Adonis Thomas is a big time LB prospect from the state of Georgia. He was at UM for Sunday's Junior Day. At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Thomas has many offers (including Miami) and his visit today indicates serious early interest in the Canes.

American Heritage standout Dredrick Snelson was offered by Miami today at Junior Day, he says. At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, he's only going to be a junior next season so he's a 2016 kid. Clemson, Cincinnati, and UCF are some of his other early offers.

Tarvarus McFadden is one of the state's premier prospects in the 2015 class, regardless of position. The American Heritage High standout has offers from just about everyone. "I really enjoyed myself at UM today," McFadden said after attending UM's Junior Day event. At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, he plays cornerback but could play CB or even safety in college because of his size.

Darius Fullwood is one of the top Class of 2015 prospects in the state of Maryland. He was at Junior Day Sunday, and says he was offered by the Canes today. At 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, this defensive end prospect had previous offers from schools like Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan State, and Tennessee. His visit over the weekend indicates some serious early interest in the Canes.

Monarch High in Broward is home to two of the state's premier prospects in the 2015 class -- DB Shawn Burgess-Becker and WR Calvin Ridley. At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Burgess-Becker is a 5-star candidate for next year and has offers from everyone. At 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Ridley's a top notch player at WR and CB.

Scott Patchan is the son of a former UM lineman. At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, Patchan is now a rising senior and is one of the state's top DE prospects. Miami offered him awhile back and he says he had a great time at Junior Day on Sunday. He also has offers from schools like Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Florida.

Rashard Causey is one of the top DB prospects in South Florida in the 2015 class. The University School standout was offered by Miami recently, and was on campus for Junior Day Sunday. At 6-feet and 195 pounds, Causey also has offers from schools like Florida, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.

Jaquan Johnson is an elite DB prospect from Miami Killian. At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, the 2015 prospect has offers from schools like Miami, Alabama, and Florida State. He was at Junior Day at UM Sunday.

Johnson has a teammate who has an offer from Miami as well. He's RB Jordan Cronkrite, who was offered by the Canes last week. At 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, Cronkrite also has offers from schools like Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, and Notre Dame. He was at Junior Day Sunday.

Tevon Coney was offered by Miami today, he says. At 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Coney is a standout LB prospect from Palm Beach Gardens HS. Ohio State, West Virginia, and NC State are some of his earlier offers.

Nick Bosa says he had "a great meeting" with Al Golden on Sunday. At 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Bosa is a very good DE prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas High. His father played in the NFL and his brother was a freshman starter at Ohio State this past season. Alabama, Florida, and Ohio State are some of his early offers. Miami still seems to be evaluating him.

American Heritage standout Torrance Gibson attended and said after that "Miami feels like home." At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, Gibson is Scout's #3 QB prospect in the 2015 class. He could also be a 5-star WR prospect as well. He is being recruited by everyone, and it's encouraging that he spent time at UM today and came away impressed.
