Coeur D'Alene HS TE Chase Blakely (Coeur D'Alene, ID) had been committed to Washington since last summer, but decided to make the switch to Boise State just last night. The talented TE says that Boise State provides the best opportunity for him to succeed and that he can't wait to play on The Blue.

"My best opportunities are going to be at Boise State," he said. "Coach Harsin plans to use the TE a lot in his offense," he added.

"Coach Drinkwitz called me the first day they got to Boise and told me I was the first guy he called," he stated. "He really showed me a lot of love. I'm fired up to play for him. He's the type of guy that likes to have fun, but I know he has the ability to make me into a great TE at Boise State."

"Coach Harsin and Coach Drinkwitz came up for an in-home visit a few weeks ago," said Blakely. "Again, I told them I was committed to UW, but we were going to at least listen to them. The new coaches at Boise State are fired up about winning and they talked a lot about how they plan to use me at TE. It was a great visit."

And the reaction of Head Coach Bryan Harsin when Blakely committed to the Broncos?

"He was fired up," he said. "He was yelling on the phone, ready to tweet it out, and told me that they're going to be doing big things at Boise."

He went on to say that he'll take his official visit to The Blue this weekend.

"I go down there this weekend for my official," he said. "I'm fired up to get around them, the new players, meet the other coaches, and see the new facilities. It's going to be great to get down there."

"I'm 100% committed."

"I talked to Matt (James) a bit," said Blakely. "I think he's pretty locked-in with UW right now, but if he wanted to be a Bronco that would be great. If not, we'll see him on The Blue in 2015."

So, what does Chase Blakely (6'5, 242, 4.7) bring to the gridiron?

"The coaches think that I'm a mismatch against LBs and CBs," he said. "They also like how I'm good in the open field, can catch the ball, and get up-field," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Chase Blakely.
