The University of Louisville didn't get a win over Cincinnati on Thursday night. But the Cardinals sure did impress one of the top shooting guards in the Class of 2015.
Orlando, Fla., Oak Ridge High School junior shooting guard Antonio Blakeney made a visit to the KFC Yum! Center to watch the Cardinals play the Bearcats. Cincy won the game 69-66.
"It was great," Blakeney said of the visit after returning home to Florida. "The game was crazy and the visit was just great."
The 6-foot-4 Blakeney, who currently ranks as the No. 68 player in the Class of '15 by Scout.com, said he's not anywhere close to ready to make a decision but noted that U of L is "coming pretty hard" after him.
U of L coach Rick Pitino has been to Florida three times to see Blakeney, while assistant coach Mike Balado has also been there.
Blakeney made an unofficial visit to U of L back in the fall after finishing up the John Lucas Camp but noted "it was a quick visit."
So, he wanted to get back and see the facilities and meet with the coaches. He spent time with the staff during the day.
"I liked it a lot," Blakeney said. "The facilities are great and they have the best arena and the best fans that I have seen."
Blakeney has over 20 offers, including U of L, Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Oklahoma State and more.
