S Stephen Griffin Profile
Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC, Duke and UNC-Charlotte have offered the 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect, who visited Clemson on Saturday for Junior Day.
"I thought it was real cool to get an offer from a school like Clemson, them being one of the top teams in the nation every year, it just feels good. It felt like all my hard work was paying off. My dad actually played there, so that was cool," Griffin told CUTigers.
Clemson was his first offer.
"I like it a lot. I like how the fans support the players," Griffin said. "I remember after my [game] visit, I walked down to the football center by the stadium and the fans were saying it's great to have you here, little kids were coming up to me to get my autograph, thinking I was a player. It was cool, because it shows how much they support their team."
In addition to the five offers, Tennessee and Wake Forest have also been in contact.
"I haven't really narrowed it down or anything, I only have five offers right now, but I am hoping to get an offer from Tennessee. I'm not really narrowing down anything, probably until this summer," Griffin said.
A number of factors will be considered as he goes through the process of making his decision.
"First off, academics. I know you can't base your decision off the coach or anything, but I just want to be able to get a good relationship with my position coach, and just the atmosphere, if I could see myself there for the next three or four years, and the players, because those are going to be my teammates," Griffin said.
