Canes offered QB over the weekend

This quarterback prospect says the Hurricanes became his first offer over the weekend. Read on to learn more about him, and what Miami's chances are.

Nick Tiano from Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN says the Canes offered him over the weekend.

6-5/230 kid in the 2015 class.

The offer happened over the weekend. It was his first offer.

He plays in an offense that primarily runs the ball and he finished his junior season with around 1,000 yards of offense and 10 touchdowns. His team finished the season 7-5.

He's originally from West Virginia and told Scout recently that he grew up a WVU fan. He's already been to camps at Tennessee, Florida State, Vanderbilt, and Auburn.

"I feel like in college I'll be more of a pocket-passes, though I run a 4.8 forty," Tiano told Scout when asked to describe himself as a player. "I can also scramble. I'm a big guy so any goal line runs or third-down and shorts I can run effectively in those situations."

Miami being his first offer should help the Canes. He's never been here, however, so getting him on a visit this spring will be important.
