Canes land massive OL

This massive offensive line prospect was offered by Miami a few weeks ago and he ended the recruiting process Wednesday night by announcing in favor of the Hurricanes.

Leeward Brown put his name on the recruiting map with a strong junior season at Miramar High.

At 6-foot-3 and 335 pounds, Brown picked up a very early offer from South Florida. Then, Miami came through with an offer right around the time he attended UM's recent Junior Day.

That was all he needed. Brown announced his commitment to the Canes on Wednesday night.

"I just committed to the University of Miami," Brown said. "I went to speak with Al Golden, James Coley, Paul Williams and Art Kehoe. They were telling me they watched my film and liked me and said they wanted me to be a Cane. Honestly, I was happy because it's the home team."

Brown, who says he actually grew up a Michigan fan, projects as an interior offensive line prospect for the Hurricanes.

Brown was Miami's second commitment of the night, joining Bradenton Manatee standout defensive tackle Ryan Fines.

Brown becomes Miami's fifth commitment in the 2015 class. Linebacker Charles Perry, offensive tackle Kevin Feder, and wide receiver Emonee Spence were the first three.
