Hoops: Canes cruise to big home win

After starting the season with two straight overtime games, Miami was able to pull ahead for a comfortable win on Thursday night.

Texas Southern turned out to be overmatched by the Hurricanes in this one. Miami was able to win both the first and second half and ended up winning the game by the score of 84-69.

Rion Brown turned in a double-double for the Hurricanes, as he scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. His solid season continued, while Donavvan Kirk led all Miami players with 15 points on the night.

Aaric Murray led TSU with 16 points. He also had two steals in the game.

The Hurricanes shot 51-percent from the floor and used 12 total players in the game.

Kirk, Brown, Manu Lacomte, Garrius Adams, and Davon Reed were Miami's starters for the third straight game to open the season.

Miami (2-1) will hit the road for the first time this season on Monday when they play at College of Charleston.
