Hoops: Canes drop Wooden Legacy opener

Miami traveled West to begin play in the Wooden Legacy and they were unable to knock off unbeaten George Washington.

Miami and George Washington played even basketball throughout regulation. It was a one-point game at halftime and the game went into overtime before GW took control, and ended up winning the game by the score of 71-63.

The Hurricanes shot just 36-percent from the floor in what's becoming a regular theme with this team -- inconsistent play on the offensive side of the ball.

Garrius Adams, with 17 points, led all Miami scorers for the second straight game. Rion Brown's 16 points and nine rebounds were enough to give him one of the best performances for the Hurricanes of this young season.

Isaiah Armwood (12 points, 11 rebounds) was the top performer for GW. Nemanja Micic led their scoring with 16 points.

Adams, Brown, Garrius Adams, Donnavan Kirk, and Manu Lecomte were the five starters for the Hurricanes in the game.

The Hurricanes (3-3) are now scheduled to take on Cal State Fullerton tomorrow night.
