Canes offer Pennsylvania QB

The Hurricanes just gave a new offer to one of the top quarterback prospects in the state of Pennsylvania. Read on to learn more about him and what Miami's chances may be.

Brandon McIlwain from Newton (PA) Council Rock North High told Scout yesterday that Miami has now offered.

His team went 7-4 and got eliminated early in the state playoffs in 2013.

As a freshman he threw for 1,370 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He added 715 yards and 11 scores on the ground.

He then made tremendous strides as a sophomore, throwing for 1,446 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He added 594 yards rushing and 10 scores.

He also played on defense as a sophomore, and had 14 tackles and one interception on the season.

He lacks ideal size right now but has a live arm and is very athletic, with the ability to make a lot of things happen with his legs.

He also plays on the varsity baseball team.

Penn State, Ohio State, and Florida were some of his earlier offers so he's already being recruited like a 4-star kid.

He is planning some spring and summer visits to check out some of the schools who have already offered him but told Scout recently that his exact plans haven't been finalized yet. Miami hopes to get one soon.
