Next Bryant McKinnie?

The Hurricanes are again dipping into the Junior College ranks, and just offered a 6-foot-8 tackle from the same school that once sent Bryant McKinnie to Miami. Read on to learn more about him.

Paris Palmer from Lackawanna JC in PA (originally from Plymouth HS in North Carolina) told Scout that Miami offered him a few days ago.

That's actually the same school that sent Bryant McKinnie to UM several years ago. Coach Kehoe has recruited that school for many years and Golden has ties there as well. UM offered one of their OL last spring.

6-foor-8 and 310 pounds

He was a 2nd team All-Conference pick in 2013.

He's expected to graduate in December and will have three years to play two at the Div 1 level.

Penn State, Ohio State, and South Carolina were some of his earlier offers. The Canes offered just this week. East Carolina recruited him out of HS and is still on him.

He told Scout that feeling at home and having a good relationship with his coaches will be the most important things he looks for in a school. Distance from home, he says, wont be a major factor.

Miami's connections at the school will definitely help here. Getting him down here for a visit will be important so he can see get a feel for the area and get a chance to spend some time with the coaches. Until that happens, he won't really know a whole lot about UM.

This offer indicates Miami's desire to sign at least one Juco OL prospect in the 2015 class so there will likely be others who emerge in the coming weeks and months heading into the spring evaluation period.
