Burns talks after returning to practice

Sophomore cornerback Artie Burns just finished a tremendously successful track season. He returned to the football practice field today. Read on to see what he's saying.

On his speed:
I want to maintain my speed throughout the season. I haven't run the 40 yet. Last year I ran a 4.5 but I want to shave a lot off that.

On getting back:
I think I've grown and gotten a lot more experience so I'm ready. I just have to get back into football condition.

On his track season:
I loved the experience. I went to nationals and wish I could have done better. I stumbled out of the blocks. I asked Coach Golden if I could do that before I made the decision to sign here.

On where he's at:
I got some reps with the first team I shared it with [Antonio Crawford]. Coach likes big corners so I think I can do some good things.

On his improvement last season:
At the end of the season my confidence got high because I was getting more comfortable with the system.

On today:
It was good coming back out here to practice with the guys and get back at it.
