Crow talks about QB competition now

Al Golden said Gray Crow has had his two best practices of the spring the last few days. Read on to see what the sophomore quarterback is saying now that starter Ryan Williams is injured.

On his role now:
It doesn't change my position. One guy is down and you're in. You always have to mentally prepare for that.

On his extra work:
I come out here and work with guys after practice, getting those game like reps. It's important getting the timing down with your receivers.

On the QB battle now:
It's a competition. Kevin's a competitor and I'll work my butt off trying to put my best foot forward to see what I can do.

On Ryan's injury:
It's tough for him. I feel for him as a friend and teammate. I went through it in high school. I feel for him.

On his knowledge of the offense:
For me it's year 3 but I came in with Coach Fisch. Coach Coley changed some things around but I'm feeling comfortable with the plays and how things work.

On how he can improve:
Coach always talks about being football players. My eyes and feet are the main things, recognizing different coverages. Those are the biggest things for me.

On his reaction to Ryan's injury:
I was down but at the same time I realized I needed to step up and be there for Ryan. You see him in the training room. You wish him the best and then move forward.

On how the injury happened:
It was a play action boot and he made the wrong cut and that was it.
