Olsen recaps spring, talks about summer

Kevin Olsen took over the starting quarterback job after Ryan Williams injured his ACL toward the end of spring. Read on to see what he's saying about spring overall, his performance in the spring game, his plans for summer, and more.

On the offensive performance in the game:
We started off rough but then we rebounded and I thought we did pretty well at the end.

On whether he was nervous:
Some of it was nerves. Some things didn't connect and the defense made some good plays. That's how football goes. I thought we finished strong.

On his performance:
I thought I ran the offense good but I definitely left some throws out there. That happens sometimes but I thought it went well.

On missing some throws:
The receivers run those middle routes real well and that connection is something I've worked on all spring.

On being the starter now:
I was fighting for a job and now it was sort of placed in my lap. Now it's up to me to take it and run with it. I have to get better, watch more film, and get ready for Louisville.

On being on that stage for the first time:
It was great. I wish I would have performed better but I made some throws and did some good things.

On the summer:
I'll try to organize 7on7s and throw with receivers. We'll have in mind what we need to do. I'll do a good job organizing that. That is pretty much how the summer is going to go.
