Canes offer Virginia DB

The Hurricanes just extended an offer to one of the top prospects in the entire state of Virginia, who plays RB and DB. Read on to learn more about him and to see what Miami's chances are.

A.J. Turner from Centreville HS in Clifton, VA told Scout that Miami offered him this week.

He finished with 1,240 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns and 440 yards receiving and five touchdowns as a junior in 2013. He also plays DB.

5-11/180

He plays mostly RB now but projects as a DB for some people. Since the Canes already have two RB commitments in the 2015 class, they're likely recruiting him on defense.

He's a tremendous athlete with excellent speed. He's a legit 4.4 type of kid.

Virginia Tech was his first offer. He's made spring visits there, Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Duke, and more. He has offers from all of those schools.

Miami will need to get him on campus at some point this summer to get seriously into the mix. Competing against those regional schools that he's made visits to won't be easy.
